Furthermore, some types of machinery do not use petroleum-based fuel. Petroleum-based fuel consumption releases carbon emissions as they operate and work. It creates an unhealthy atmosphere around the site. Electric equipment is the more safe and most eco-friendly machine.

  1. Clean the equipment

Along with the maintenance of the equipment, cleaning is also mandatory. The dirt and unclean equipment may create a more hazardous atmosphere around the site. After every shift, you should clean the equipment. Remove the dirt from the outer surface of the equipment. Then look at the tires and clean them as well. check the engine and fuel tanks. If the fuel tank has any issue then fix it. Cleaning the engine and fuel tank is necessary. Do not forget to clean and sanitize the cab as well. The cab door knobs, windows, and steering wheel may have dirt and germs so cleaning and sanitizing them will keep the drivers safe from any infection.

Nowadays, automatic equipment is available for sale in the market that does not require any operator for its operation. They are, indeed, expensive but if you can afford to buy or rent them, then choose them. This contactless equipment will be more suitable for the sites such as mining and demolitions etc.

  1. Wear PPE

Some sites are very hard to avoid producing dust, fumes, and gases such as demolition sites, mining sites, and other forestry sites. In this case, you need to keep yourself safe from being affected by the hazards. You should always use personal protective equipment while working on the sites. The PPE kit includes a face mask, caps, boots, gloves, goggles, and safety jackets.

  1. Address sanitation requirements

Some remote sites do not have enough facilities for the workers for their sanitation needs. You can imagine that open defecation at the sites could be so dangerous for the environment and the workers as well. The manager needs to take care of this very aspect while working in remote areas. These areas are especially around the mining sites. The equipment manufacturers have experimented to install a mini restroom in the cab in some construction equipment models. But they are not available and common in all heavy equipment. So, the managers should make arrangements for hand sanitizers, soaps, and potable washrooms at the site. These mandatory things will keep the environment safe for everyone.
