Why can’t they be spiritual on their own, feel close to God in a particular area like the beach or the mountains, and call it good?
Why Are These Church-Related Things So Crucial?
As a former youth pastor, attending church has been a mixed blessing for me. It has served as a haven for healing, creativity, and thoughtful challenge and a scene of pressure, intimidation, and mistrust. I have attended church services where tradition and protectionism are predominant. On the other hand, I have sat through services where the welcome from the front is about as genuine as the coffee made with soapy water in the back.
The response to the question “Why is the church important?” is not necessarily found in books for Christian discipleship but would likely vary depending on anyone you asked in the street. Some people might scoff at the question because they place no value on the church. On the other hand, some people would compare the church to a museum in that they both preserve artefacts from the past. They are out of touch with the modern world, yet they are a pleasant spot to visit on rainy days to see how charmingly people used to live.
The church is significant to many Americans because it fulfils many of their needs on a personal level. As a result, they receive a weekly boost that helps them deal with daily life.
What Is The Church Mentioned In The Bible?
If you bring up the church to a bunch of Christians or Christian discipleship books top sellers, you’ll probably get a range of reactions. Even though they adore Jesus, some claim they don’t love the church. We love the church, of course, which could be the response from others.
God has appointed the church to fulfil his purpose and plan in the world, a fellowship of the flawed. We know the church is crucial for maturing in Christ when we consider the biblical teaching of the church. The historical and biblical example given down to us by the earliest disciples of Jesus is attendance at church
They would gather every week, and maybe even every day, to worship God together. Additionally, they would socialise in each other’s homes. Christ Is Revealed To The World By The Church
Not just in Jesus Christ but also in the church, God is still incarnate. Jesus is God in human form, and the church is Jesus in human form. Please recognise that Christ’s incarnation is unique. God took on human flesh as a baby born to Mary, grew up as a man, and died on the cross for others’ sins for the only time in history. That incident won’t ever happen again. And the cycle of incarnation never ends. Jesus was physically risen from the dead and then physically exalted into heaven. He’ll make a physical comeback to rule as King on Earth.
What makes the church significant? Because just as Jesus revealed God while He was on earth, God has left it here to expose His Son to the world. We are the present manifestation of Jesus Christ in the world until He returns. We are the people of God, the body of Christ, the rock upon which the truth is established.
