Rare Element Resources is excited to announce the appointment of Brent Berg as President and Chief Executive Officer. Brent comes to the company with more than 25 years of experience in the mining industry, most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer at Kinross Gold Corporation.
Under his leadership, KGC achieved growth in all key operating metrics, culminating in an $8 billion market capitalization. Brent will lead RER’s strategy and operations as we continue our transformation into a global rare earth company.

Rare Element Resources is pleased to announce the appointment of Brent Berg as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Berg has over 20 years of experience in exploring, developing, and managing resource properties.
Most recently, he was President and Chief Operating Officer at Diamondback Energy, LLC, where he led all aspects of the company’s operations. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of the business, including land management, drilling, production, and infrastructure development. He also played a leading role in acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Under Mr. Berg’s leadership, Diamondback Energy became one of North America’s largest independent producers of oil & gas, with total reserves totaling more than 2 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
In addition to his operational experience, Mr. Berg also brings extensive technical knowledge to REE. He has a B.S., M.S., & DBA from Oklahoma State University in Mining Engineering & Geology. He has been a registered professional geologist since 1995.
