The video shows a strange phenomenon that the band plays in New York and the shadows of participants play on the ground.
The video of the song makes the viewer feel like a set-up of the 1980s. there occurs several payphones seen including a breakdancer. The real setting is up-to-date and Mini Cooper evidenced it in one scene.
It features a pawn shop with antiquated boom boxes and television sets. This setup is for Adam Levine who appears there in his chorus.

The lyric video of the song got millions of views within a month after its release. The lyric video showed a live action of a man and woman who got dressed and went out with boom boxes and meet in a park.

The song received a positive response from many people. Jenna Hally Rubenstein of MTV appreciated the band’s selection of the song “My Heart’s Stereo”. Jenna wrote that the song is a bit more slickly produced than those people are used to, but we are in favor of the experimental song.
James Montgomery of MTV described the song as a “prime-time-slab of genre-mashing, sweet inducing pop, the kind of the song that may very well push GCH to summertime superstardom”.
