Few mobile phones are more memorable than the Apple iPhone. Smartphones from the Californian giant are closely watched by users, fans, and competitors, and their looks and features have a huge impact not only on the smartphone market but sometimes even beyond it. How has this phone evolved since its first generation? This year apple launched iPhone 14 series. And iPhone 14 price and featured are so good.

The iPhone defined the smartphone category

Mobile phones have been a hit since the beginning of the 21st century. Manufacturers tried to improve their phones, adding useful and more advanced functions. The resolution, the number of colors, and basically also the size of the display increased. Over time, phones also became increasingly high-quality cameras capable of recording high-quality mobile videos. Brands competed in unique designs that stood out from the crowd. Some of the works were simply extraordinary.

Mobile phones designed primarily for work purposes began to build their space. The concept of a smartphone, smartphone was adopted. Such mobile phones were equipped with a larger display, sometimes even a touch screen, which was controlled by a touch pen, the so-called stylus. At that time, Apple was already world-famous for its iPod MP3 players and interesting Mac computers. It decided to change the view of the smartphone and make it a more user-friendly device than how smartphones have affected users so far.

In early 2007, Apple launched its first iPhone. It may not have seemed like a significant threat to competitors at first, although it lacked some basic functions. But over time, it was confirmed that the bet on the iPhone really paid off well for Apple. Users didn’t miss a stylus, and neither did a QWERTY keyboard. More and more people began to swipe their fingers across the surface of the large display, and today many of us cannot imagine a day without a touch phone. The Apple iPhone has made a strong impact on the history of mobile phones.

iPhone (2007) – in the beginning, the iPhone

As time went on, new and new generations came and people greeted them with enthusiasm, mixed feelings, and disgust. A lot of years have passed since the first generation, and if we were to put the first and so far last generation side by side, practically no stone was left unturned except for the logo on the back. However, the iPhone still carries that absolute foundation, namely a great emphasis on a pleasant user experience.

The arrival of the Apple phone was expected even before the keynote in January 2007. However, few expected that the phone would be so visually simple. The fan concepts most often looked like an iPod with a full keyboard. Minimalism surprised everyone. The display was huge by the standards of the time and offered a truly generous resolution of 320 × 480 pixels. You could control it with several fingers at once, and moving through menus and applications was very easy thanks to the successful iPhone OS system.

However, the first iPhone also earned criticism, for example for the lack of MMS messages, the inability to shoot videos or the lack of a 3G connection to the world. Some were also upset that Apple did not allow Flash technology into its Safari browser. So you didn’t run many websites on the iPhone. However, fan interest prevailed, and even as the competition laughed, others realized that these were only the ills of the first generation. The perfect display technology and capable system promised a bright future.

iPhone 3G (2008) – the app is coming

The successor to the original iPhone fixed several ailments. It was already clear from the name that 3G networks are here and will enable an even better connection with the world. GPS was also a novelty. However, what took the iPhone to new heights was the introduction of an application store called the App Store. So the iPhone really started to fulfill the function of a smartphone that can learn a lot of new things. Relatively powerful hardware allowed developers to tackle advanced applications that use a gyroscope or GPS. The new iPhone was well-received.

The large and high-quality display was absolutely ideal for playing games. The developers didn’t keep eager fans waiting long and used the potential of a nice display and easy touch control to create catchy games for relaxation, but also for multiplayer battles with friends. The copy-paste function was still missing, but the introduction of the iPhone OS 2.0 system made it clear that it would not stay with this version and that Apple would regularly update its

operating system in addition to the phone itself.

iPhone 3GS (2009) – the perfect phone can be even better

Those who expected the iPhone 4 generation were surprised. However, the iPhone 3GS was only an improved 3G model. That’s why the shape in the name, while the design hasn’t even changed at all. Again, it came in two color versions. The front side with the display remained black, and the white shade covered only the rear plastic cover. The new iPhone 3GS upgraded the processor to 600 MHz and finally managed to shoot video or use the compass.

Opinions began to appear in reviews that we’ve seen this before and Apple isn’t pushing fast enough for more drastic design changes. Apple was only preparing the ground and improving the iPhone 3GS mainly in terms of functions and performance so that it could jump a big step further with the next generations. The iPhone OS 3 mobile system pleased the owners of apple phones with the copy-paste function, search through the system, support for MMS messages, and a voice recorder.

iPhone 4 (2010) – revolutionary in every way

The display qualities of the iPhone 4 were revealed even before its launch in June 2010. And they were stunning. The iPhone 4 boasted a so-called Retina display, on which not a single pixel was visible from a normal viewing distance. No wonder, on the 3.5″ diagonal there was a resolution of 480 × 960 pixels. A fine image was not the only thing that attracted the new iPhone. We finally got a big change in design. The phone was glass and angular. The edges were interrupted by antennas. The operating system changed its name to iOS.

The predecessor was capable of shooting videos, and now the iPhone 4 has improved it – by introducing a front-facing selfie camera for video calls. It also coincided with the launch of the new FaceTime app. The rear camera has increased the resolution to 5 Mpx. The Apple A4 processor provided enough performance. A controversial area was the loss of signal due to the overlap of the side antennas when normally held in the hand. At first, Apple didn’t want to admit this, but then it started shipping the iPhone 4 case for free. Nevertheless, the iPhone 4 was a phone that many still remember as a very successful piece.
