We have never stopped being surprised by Instagram since its inception.

To help creators and brands grow on Instagram, Instagram constantly adds and removes features faster than ever to its Story section.

Instagram Story viewers, also known as active Instagram Story viewers, have helped brands reach their ideal target audience.

Introducing Instagram Stories in 2016, the photo-sharing platform changed how users interact with content and how they view it – as well as raising new questions about who is viewing it most. Viewers of your Stories are usually those who follow you and are eager to keep up with what you’re up to.

The purpose of this blog post is to provide you with all the information you need about Instagram Story viewers and how this feature can be leveraged for the benefit of your business. Come on, let’s get started!

Major Instagram Story Updates In 2021

Instagram’s Stories feature is one of its most popular features. As a result of user feedback, Instagram’s head Adam Mosseri announced significant updates to the Stories feature. Instagram aims to improve the user experience by introducing these features. Here’s a quick rundown of recent Instagram Story updates.

Update #1: Instagram Introduces “Add Yours” Sticker

Instagram just launched the Add Yours sticker globally. It’s a new sticker that creates a public thread within Stories.

Update #2: Instagram Story Link Sticker Replaces Swipe Up Feature

Businesses and creators were previously able to add a link to their Stories through the swipe-up feature. Viewers can access the link by swiping up on the Story or by clicking “See More” at the bottom.

As a result, Instagram has announced that Link Stickers will replace swipe-ups in Stories. The link can be accessed by tapping on the sticker in the story.

A sticker has three significant advantages over the swipe-up feature according to Instagram:

  • There is a greater popularity and familiarity of stickers among users who already use them for music, questions, locations, polls, etc.
  • With stickers, you have more creative control over how your Story appears than with swipe-up links.
  • It is important to note that stickers enable viewers to engage with a Story, whereas the swipe-up feature did not allow viewers to comment or respond to a Story.

Update #3: Regardless Of Follower Count, Every User Can Add Links To Instagram Stories

The Swipe-Up feature was previously available to verified business and creator accounts with at least 10,000 Free Instagram Followers. As of October 27th, however, all Instagram users worldwide may add links and its predecessor, the swipe-up feature, to Instagram Stories regardless of the number of followers they have.

Update #4: Instagram Testing A 60-Second Limit For Stories

This development, which appears to be a step in Instagram’s effort to keep people engaged on its platform, demonstrates the company’s ambition to expand its video formats.

There is currently a 15-second segment for Instagram Stories. According to Alessandro Paluzz, a developer and social media expert, Instagram Stories are currently being tested for a longer duration of 60 seconds.
