Regular roof types are suitable for people who live in areas with average weather conditions for the whole year. Regular roof types are the most affordable among all designs.

In the regular metal building roof types, roof panels move down from the ridge cap to the structure legs along with the metal building frame. Generally, these roof designs do not have eaves on the edges. In the case of a regular metal roof, there is only a single slope available on each side of the ridge cape.

Boxed Eave Metal Barn Roof

Boxed eave metal building roofs are almost similar to traditional building roofs. From both aesthetic and safety perspectives, boxed eave roofs are suitable for metal barn buildings.

These roof designs are also known as a-frame designs. Effective reinforcement in the boxed eave roof design allows the roof structures to withstand moderate weather conditions. It can bear snow load and heavy rain to some extent without structural deformation.

There is no significant difference between the design of the regular metal barn roofs and the boxed metal barn roofs. The only difference between both roof types is related to the frame on which metal panels are attached and the configuration of the roof structure where it is connected to metal frame legs.

Vertical Metal Barn Roof

Among all metal building designs, a vertical metal roof is the most stable and durable king of roof design. No other roof type time can withstand extreme weather conditions other than vertical. Roof Pitch

In simple words, you can explain the pitch of a roof in a metal building as the angle that rises with every foot by the horizontal plane. For example, you can understand the 4:12 roof pitch rising 4 inches to the span every 12 inches. From the safety point of view and weather perspective, the role of roof pitch is most crucial.

Purlings

In the metal roof, purlins are metal beams that go in the length of a metal building and offer structural support for metal roof panels.

Ridge Cap

Ridge caps are the covers covering the metal roof’s peak where slops from both sides meet each other. Because of the minor gap between both slops, there is a high possibility of water leakage during the rainy season. Water leakage in the joints can cause water accumulation on the structure frame, resulting in rust or corrosion. Attaching the ridge cap on the top prevents water leakage in the structure.

Z bar

In the metal roof, Z bars are metal bends that fill gaps between the ribs and the ridge of the metal roof. The primary purpose of using the Z bar is to prevent water leakage in the structure and protect metal panels from rust.
