Computers are everywhere these days. They’re used in cars, phones, tablets, watches, refrigerators, TVs, and just about everything else. And we all rely on computers every day to make our lives easier. But what does the future hold for computer technology work? How far away are we from having self-driving cars, virtual reality headsets, and holographic displays?
In this blog post, I’ll share my thoughts on some of the trends in computer technology that I think will shape the future of computing.
1. Artificial Intelligence Will Continue To Improve
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a term that describes machines that perform tasks like human beings. AI is becoming increasingly common in everyday life. For instance, Google Assistant uses AI to answer questions, Amazon Alexa uses AI to order products, and Siri uses AI to provide information.
But AI doesn’t stop there. As AI continues to evolve, it will become smarter and more capable. We may soon see AI systems that can learn from past experiences and predict outcomes based on previous events. These systems will be able to analyze large amounts of data and make decisions based on that analysis.
For example, imagine a system that learns from its mistakes and makes better predictions next time around. Or consider a system that analyzes millions of images and videos to identify objects and faces.
This type of AI is called deep learning. Deep learning is currently being applied to areas like speech recognition, image classification, natural language processing, and video games.
2. Computers May Become More Humanlike
We’ve seen the rise of robots over the last several decades. Today, robots are commonly found performing menial tasks like vacuuming, assembling furniture, and serving drinks.
But the field of robotics is advancing quickly. Researchers are now creating robots that look and act more like humans. Some researchers believe that within 20 years, robots will be indistinguishable from humans.
These humanoid robots will likely be programmed to interact naturally with people. They may also be able to understand emotions and respond accordingly.
3. Virtual Reality Will Be Mainstreamed
Virtual reality (VR) is another area of computer technology that is rapidly evolving. VR allows users to enter a completely different world. Users wear special goggles that project 3D graphics onto their retinas.
Today, VR is primarily used for gaming purposes. However, it’s expected that VR will eventually be used for a variety of applications including education, medicine, entertainment, and even military training.
It’s possible that VR will someday replace traditional 2D screens entirely. Imagine watching movies and TV shows without ever needing to leave your couch!
4. Holograms Will Take Over Our Lives
It’s no secret that holographic technology has been around since the 1980s, but it wasn’t until recently that scientists were able to develop the technology to make them work at scale. At this point, they’re still very much in their infancy, but there are some exciting applications already being developed. For example, researchers have created a prototype that can be worn by astronauts during space missions, allowing them to see through walls or other objects simply by looking at them.

Quantum computers will change everything
A quantum computer can perform calculations at speeds 100 million times faster than today’s fastest supercomputers. Deep Learning will revolutionize AI
Artificial Intelligence has been around since the 1950s but was only really taken seriously after the rise of deep learning in 2012. This new approach to machine learning uses neural networks – layers of artificial neurons connected by synapses – to learn how to perform tasks. It can be trained with huge amounts of data and is much better at recognizing patterns than traditional approaches.
Virtual Reality will take over the world
Virtual reality is going to be huge. It’s already taking off in gaming, but there are many other ways this technology can be applied. For example, virtual reality could allow people with disabilities to experience things they couldn’t before. Or maybe it could help us understand our environment better by allowing us to see through walls or even interact with objects around us.
We’ll soon live in a post-human society
