My Life as a Blue Jay Bird

I wake up before the sun and work until it’s gone. I eat seeds, bugs, and whatever else I can find. Then I go back to work.
In the summer I sleep in until around 10am and then I’m busy all day. In the winter I wake up at 4am and work until 7pm.
When it’s warm outside I like to fly around and search for food. Sometimes other birds will follow me, but usually they just fly away when they see me.
When it’s cold outside I like to stay in one spot and eat snow.

My Early Years
Growing up in a small town in Virginia, I was always surrounded by birds. My grandparents had a huge yard and there were always birds flying around. My favorite was the blue jay. I loved to watch them hop around and fly.

I never really thought much of it until I moved to Seattle. There were so many different types of birds here and I never saw a blue jay. I was really surprised that they didn’t exist in Seattle! Then one day, while walking around the city, I saw a blue jay up close. It was sooo cute!
Now that I live in Seattle, I love going out for walks and trying to spot some of my favorite birds. The blue jay is definitely one of my favorites!
My Lives in the Nest
I love being a blue jay! I enjoy spending my days perched in a tree, watching the world go by. I love the sound of the wind through the leaves and the feel of the sun on my feathers. I’m especially fond of eating worms!
